Plan Options
- 401(k) Plans - funded by salary deferral contributions, either pre-tax or after-tax (ROTH). May include employer matching contributions and/or discretionary employer contributions. The Safe Harbor provision eliminates the need to do some compliance testing.
-Profit Sharing Plans - employer funded plan with flexible contribution. Maximum tax deductible employer contribution is 25% of net eligible payroll.
-SIMPLE IRA Plans - funded by pre-tax salary deferral contributions. Mandatory employer contribution - either as a match of employee deferrals up to 3% of the employee deferrals or a fixed 2% non-elective contribution on behalf of all eligible employees.
- SEP IRA's -employer funded plan with a flexible contribution. Usually set up by owner only businesses or those with few employees.
